What Does MOPP Mean?

It is a design requirement backed by type testing, not a marketing label.

MOOP — Means of Operator Protection — protects the person operating the device, not the patient. The isolation distances and voltage-withstand requirements differ: MOPP is generally more stringent because a patient may be unable to react to a shock. The number of MOPPs follows the device’s applied part classification: body (B), body floating (BF) or cardiac floating (CF). - Design file — the creepage/clearance summary and leakage budget for the power stage.

Leakage Current in Medical Power Supplies: Explained
Leakage current is the small current that flows through insulation to earth or to the patient, and medical standards cap it very low.
In normal condition, patient leakage current is typically limited to around 100 µA or less depending on the standard edition and the applied-part classification. The design controls it through insulation, Y-capacitor values and the transformer’s inter-winding capacitance. Test houses measure it under normal and single-fault conditions — the report is the proof that the budget holds.
